Hi, I’m Cindy! I was born in Bogota, Colombia and I was raised in Queens, New York. My passion for fashion was born during my senior year of college when I studied abroad in Paris, France. I really began to notice trends and how a scarf could change the look of a simple black dress. I began to accessorize dresses with belts and scarves, as well as adding jewelry pieces such as necklaces, rings and bracelets.
After I returned to New York, I continued to devote time to looking for new style trends and I enjoyed incorporating them into my own outfit choices. I loved the compliments that I received from my supervisor and mentor at the time. She encouraged me to continue exploring my sense of style.
One of my favorite outfit combinations was when I wore dressy shorts with black leggings and a loose blouse. Through it all, I continued to wear my most prized possession, my black leather jacket that I bought in Paris. This was the purchase that began my discovery of street fashion. With my new found style confidence, I began wearing rompers and other new pieces that I had not been comfortable enough to wear before. I noticed that in New York City you can get away with wearing many pieces, as long as you compliment a very bold piece with neutral pieces. This style lesson continues to cross my mind every morning when I look through my closet and choose an outfit for the day.
