2014 A Furry New Year

Hi TTC Readers!

Happy belated 2014 :) I’ve been working on a few projects, on my career and I’ve met someone who I’m happily getting to know :) which left me with less time to post. I’m back and ready to kick off the first post of The Trend Crush on 2014!

As you can see from these shots New York was recently bombarded with snow. I chose to wear my grandmother’s gift, this beautiful fur coat, which really kept me warm and allowed me to wear my pink pumps ;). I accessorized and kept warm by adding a print scarf and my Calvin Klein handbag.

I want to thank everyone who reached out to me waiting patiently for my next post!

Enjoy and have a great day!

Hi Everyone,

I hope you had a great weekend. This past Sunday was my cousin’s babies’s baby shower (that was a mouthful!). My cousin Paola has three beautiful happy children. Alex is the oldest he is one year old and he has two younger brothers, who are twins, Christian and Noah. I must have mentioned this before, but I will repeat it in order to emphasize it, they are the calmest most happy babies you will ever meet. It does not cease to amaze me. My cousin Paola asked me to be Noah’s godmother and I was honored and gladly accepted.

The baptism took place at 1:15pm and at 12:30pm I decided I needed to wear a more formal dress because the one I had in mind didn’t really suit the occasion. At this point I am tossing dresses out of my closet looking for something both formal and conservative. I found a very helpful site called thefashionpolice.net, where they break down the basics. For example, you should wear what you normally wear to church or other religious building. This means covering up a bit more than you normally would. In my case I guess I was a bit more risqué since my shoulders were bare, but it was 90 degrees out, I was sure I’d catch a break. Aside from that my dress was not above the knee and not tight at the bottom. Honestly, I’m always afraid of loose dresses, I always feel thicker in them. This one worked because it was tight at and above the waist. I wore my hair up with a pink feather hair clip and a bun. My shoes were white and gold from Nine West. I loved how they looked but while I was carrying Noah up the aisle I thought the shoes had been a mistake. I will go for comfort if in the future I’m caught in a formal celebration that involves carrying a baby :).

Enjoy and have a great Monday!

Hi Everyone,

The weather in New York has been very hot and humid this past week with an average of about 90 degrees fahrenheit each day. By the way, I’m not complaining I LOVE the heat, it inspired this tropical outfit :).

About My Outfit

I bought this dress many years ago, probably five years ago but the theme of summer never gets old. I paired the outfit with shoes I bought from Forever 21 and a summer hat I bought in April during my trip to Peru. The hat was definitely a bargain specially considering that I bought it near one of the ancient ruins. I felt like Indiana Jones :).

Also, I wanted to invite you to opt-in to receive newsletter updates from The Trend Crush. I’m doing a small giveaway, if you opt-in from now until the August 8th you’ll enter to win a $25 Amex Gift Card. To enter click on the link at the top right. Good luck!

Enjoy and have a wonderful day!

Hi Everyone,

Happy Thursday! It’s a beautiful hot summer day here in NYC and therefore a great day to flaunt  your favorite summer dress. I chose this beige dress from Forever 21, which is light and will help keep you cool during the summer heat. I paired it with my favorite leopard pumps to give the outfit a bit more attitude.

Enjoy and come back soon!

It’s finally here, happy Friday! I put together this outfit as I thought about the weekend. It’s a great dress for going out on a date or going out with the girls. This dress can also be a day dress if worn with flats. I paired the dress with these beautiful printed heels for a night look.

Enjoy your Friday and come back soon!

Flower Print Dress!

1 2 3

Hi everyone! It’s almost Friday, I hope you are as excited as I am :).

On another note, the weather is finally starting to warm up and I thought this little flower print dress from Forever 21 would be perfect for spring.  I paired it with this beige blazer from H&M because, I don’t know about you but, I tend to feel a bit cold when the stores, trains, buses and offices in NYC begin to turn on their AC just as the temperature rises to 70 degrees. In order to avoid feeling like a popsicle, this blazer is a great option. I also didn’t want this outfit to feel overly dressy, so I added cowboy boots to give it a more daytime feel.

Enjoy and have a great day!
