2014 A Furry New Year

Hi TTC Readers!

Happy belated 2014 :) I’ve been working on a few projects, on my career and I’ve met someone who I’m happily getting to know :) which left me with less time to post. I’m back and ready to kick off the first post of The Trend Crush on 2014!

As you can see from these shots New York was recently bombarded with snow. I chose to wear my grandmother’s gift, this beautiful fur coat, which really kept me warm and allowed me to wear my pink pumps ;). I accessorized and kept warm by adding a print scarf and my Calvin Klein handbag.

I want to thank everyone who reached out to me waiting patiently for my next post!

Enjoy and have a great day!

Furry Vests!

It’s that time again! It’s time to pull out your furry vests from whatever hidden drawer or closet you keep all your winter clothes in. I know, I’ve yet to pull out all my winter clothes from the drawers beneath my bed, but I know it’s on my to do list.

I thought about making today’s look very casual and because it was such a sunny day I also wanted to use lighter colors.

If you’ve yet to purchase a vest for this winter here is a list of beautiful fur vests under $200!

Thoughts on Worrying and The Chic Biker Look with Bebe!!

“There is nothing that wastes the body like worry..”
Mahatma Gandhi

Happy Thursday Everyone! It’s been a while since you heard some of my personal feelings and experiences in writing for the blog and I realized that it was the reason I loved blogging so much.

I loved talking about my ups and downs because for some reason it made my downs not feel as low. It was like I would release them from my mind into the world and they were gone! So in an attempt to cleanse myself I’m writing to release them.

One of the emotions I’m hoping to rid myself of today is Worry. I’ve had a lot on my mind these last couple of days and as a result I seem to worry a lot, which is a waste of energy and is what ultimately makes me feel worn-out. So there, Worry get out of my head and don’t come back!

On the other hand, I’m very happy to have the opportunity to share with you some amazing companies these past couple of weeks and to feature them on the blog :).

I also heard from some of you on Facebook about Angela & Roi and on Monogram about Shop Your Label. Thanks everyone for your comments, I love to hear your thoughts on everything that goes on here! Let me also reassure you that there are a few other wonderful collaborations on the way!

For today’s outfit, I thought it would be fun to put together a chic-biker-look for Bebe’s September Street Chic NYC Event, which involves $50 off any $250 purchase and $25 off any $150 purchase at bebe!* Using code: NYCFALL.

(*Restrictions apply. Valid 9/19/13-10/6/13.).

I paired a black leather jacket with a red top to give it a bit of pop, along with leather-stripe-leggings and my royal blue heels. These heels are what makes the outfit more chic as opposed to a more casual look.

I also wanted to share with you my latest fashion experiment in which I took my Dior sunglasses and turned them into prescription transitional lenses :)! Which means they have my prescription and they turn dark in the sun. I <3 them :).

How to Style a Summer Dress for Fall with Steve Madden!

I thought it would be fun to show you how different pieces in an outfit can give it a very different look. I wore this dress previously on this post, but in today’s post I upgraded the look for fall.

I added a denim-button-down, which are very trendy right now, and I tied it in the front to give the look an hourglass shape. I have a bit of a pear-shaped body and so I find at times when I add a top that’s very loose I just look like a square lol.

However, tying a button-down shirt can work on many different body types because the knot at the waist will emphasize where the upper body ends and the lower body begins and really give you an hourglass figure.

I also added a multi-layered necklace and finished the outfit off with a pair of peep-toe-booties, which make the final transition into fall and if you’re currently shopping around for peep-toe-booties Steve Madden is running a promotion online: Take 15% off $100+ free shipping at Steve Madden with promo code SMOCT1!! Winter Fun and an Update on the Monogram Contest!

I hope you had a very exciting or a very restful weekend! It was a very eventful weekend for me, my friend and photographer Santiago Mejia is leaving for Kuwait. Santi is in the military, he was drafted and is actually on his way to Kuwait probably as I am writing this post. I want to thank him for taking the time to take hundreds of pictures and making this such a great and enjoyable experience for me. My brother decided to get all of his close friends and family together for a see-you-soon send off party and it was very much like the movie Hangover lol. I hope you will join me in sending the best of luck on this trip.

As far as today’s outfit goes, I really like these tights because they have a very common pattern, the houndstooth pattern, but you never would have expected it on tights! Since they standout so much, in and of themselves, I chose to combine them with a black romper and this beautiful Michael Kors jacket.

I’m also very happy to report that The Trend Crush came in fourth on the Monogram contest!! The lovely people at Monogram reached out for an interview! Be sure to check out the interview here.
