Hi TTC Readers!
Happy belated 2014 :) I’ve been working on a few projects, on my career and I’ve met someone who I’m happily getting to know :) which left me with less time to post. I’m back and ready to kick off the first post of The Trend Crush on 2014!
As you can see from these shots New York was recently bombarded with snow. I chose to wear my grandmother’s gift, this beautiful fur coat, which really kept me warm and allowed me to wear my pink pumps ;). I accessorized and kept warm by adding a print scarf and my Calvin Klein handbag.
I want to thank everyone who reached out to me waiting patiently for my next post!
Enjoy and have a great day!

Summer is breathing its last breaths of 2013. They make their way through my window and whisper good-bye. Good-bye wonderful warmth and my favorite season of the year, I will miss you.
Labor Day is here and summer is officially over. Soon the winds will pick up and turn our green leafs into beautiful shades of yellow, orange, red and brown.
What I love about fall, is the fact that I can wear darker colors and different layers of clothes. However for day, I will wear all white since according to the fashion bible thou shall not wear white after labor day…maybe… I’ll probably wear it anyway :).
On another urgent note, if you like the blog and check it regularly, be sure to vote for me on Monogram
today is the last day to vote and it would mean a great deal to me if you could add any comments there.

Yesterday was a beautiful day in NYC and so we decided to do a shoot at Flushing Meadows Corona Park. We were fortunate enough to find that the fountain surrounding the beautiful Unisphere was turned on and made for some very nice pics :). For more fun facts about the Unisphere be sure to click here.

“I wore black because I liked it. I still do, and wearing it still means something to me. It’s still my symbol of rebellion — against…people whose minds are closed to others’ ideas.”

It’s been a slow week since the 4th of July and since then my healthy eating habits went out the window. It doesn’t help that I’m reading Eat, Pray, Love and I’m up to the part where she describes pizza as “Holy of holies! Thin, doughy, strong, gummy, yummy, chewy, salty pizza paradise. On top, there is a sweet tomato sauce that foams up all bubbly and creamy when it melts the fresh buffalo mozzarella, and the one sprig of basil in the middle of the whole deal somehow infuses the entire pizza with herbal radiance…” Keeping that in mind, you can see why it’s been a bit difficult :).
About My Outfit
As I mentioned a few posts ago I love the color black, for some reason I think it suits me more often than other colors. I can agree with Johnny Cash, in that black gives off a sense of rebellion.
What’s interesting about this outfit is that this top isn’t really a top, it was a one piece bathing suit. I never wear one piece bathing suits, although I’ve contemplated doing so this summer because they’re back in style. I bought this bathing suit to purposely use it as a top. It’s a great piece for going out in this hot humid weather we’re having in NYC. I matched it with my black leather skirt and strappy heels.

Happy Hump Day!
Leather skirts and shorts have been in style for some time now and I thought it would be fun to spend sometime talking about what fun outfit ideas can come from leather skirts. For starters leather skirts were born in the 80s and were also worn in the 90s. They slowly faded away in the early 2000’s and are now back in style. The black leather skirt is more of a neutral piece, which means you can pretty much mix it with almost any color or fabric. In this outfit I chose bold pieces like a gold sequin top and red wedges. Other combinations can include polka dot or stripe tops as well as white or skin toned tops. For a more casual look you can even chose your favorite T-shirt and a nice pair of sandals. If you’re in NYC I would recommend wearing the leather skirt at some point this week since the weather will be in the 70s and once it hits 90 it won’t be as comfortable ;).
Enjoy and have a wonderful day!
